Hidden Sea and the Pyramid of Fire
I was looking forward to see this movie since I heard about it for the first time. When reading about who is part of the crew and where they are going, I was expecting a bomb! :)
I watched it yesterday and really did like it. Great travels, great surfing, some insight and an amazing landscape! I guess every surf traveler would love to do the same... So safe up a shitload of money for that huge off-road camper van, the helicopter, high class camping gear, learn some russian and just go! ;)
Coldwatertrips are definitely part of my next travels!

Under The Weather - Surfing in New Zealand
I was posting the teaser a few weeks ago. I would have loved to see more of New Zealand itself and some more interviews & storyline. In the middle of the movie there is a little bit of it, but in my opinion it's not enough. But the movie proofs that there are tons of uncrowded waves in NZ which is good, haha! Great surfing too! I always liked the kiwis who I meet while traveling around - always nice people to hang out with!

Finally! :)

Tomorrow we gonna leave for a two months journey along the atlantic coast! I'm looking foward working & surfing with a highly motivated crew! All our stuff is packed! We really can't wait to meet all those great characters, stories, cities, beaches, waves and so on and make something beautifull out of it...

Samsara is a new non verbal documentary film by the creators of 1992's lauded "Baraka". It took five years to make, and was shot in over 100 locations in 25 countries. It is one of only a handful of films to be shot on 70mm film in the last forty years. Directed by Ron Fricke and produced by Mark Magidson.

Samsara will be in US Theaters August 24th 2012, with international releases soon to follow.

Inspiration for today.

The nice guys from Affenfaust are doing a screening of my little movie "Selamat Jalan" on the 28th of April in Hamburg. So if you ever wanted to see the movie on the big screen you better be there :) Or just show up having a good time and meet some nice people. There will also be a group exhibition showing photographs from all over the world related to surfing, traveling and culture. Peace!
